Sketching. Haciendo bocetos.

Buenas tardes,

segunda entrega del proceso de mis 3x3, las baldosas de 3cms de lado para el intercambio que tendrá lugar en el ECC2014, que este año será en Madrid. 

Basándome en el proyecto de logo que presenté al concurso de APE, transformándolo para que encajara en 3x3 y que quedara compensado, interesante y mono, quizá demasiadas cosas en tan poco espacio.

second chapter of the how-to of my inchies, in fact not inchies... 3x3cms, for the inchies swap at ECC2014, at Madrid this year.

Based on the logo proyecto I made for the APE contest, I have to change it for a 3x3 tile, equilibrated, cute, interesting... a lot of things in so small space.

Depurando el concepto del diseño original para el logo y ajustándolo a las medidas necesarias, creo que he logrado un producto altamente aceptable. El papel, lo aguanta todo, ahora venía lo realmente difícil: plasmarlo sobre la arcilla.

Distilling the esence of my original design for the logo and fitting it inside the 3x3, finally I got a quite quality product. On paper, everything is perfect, now the challenge was to put it on the clay.

Mi primera opción fue hacer murrinas para una mitad de la baldosa. Tres o cuatro murrinas después, tiré la toalla. Así que mi segunda opción ha sido un collage y admito que estoy encantada con él. Ha sido duro, desesperante y varias veces he tenido que modificar técnicas.

My first thought was to make a cane. Three or four canes after, I´ve given up. So, my second best was a collage, and I have to admit that I love it even it had been very hard, dissapointed several times and I have had to change my mind and walk new ways.

Las dos baldosas de la izquierda están hechas con sendas murrinas y la de la derecha con un montaje por piezas... creo que es innecesario explicar cuál me gusta más.

Two left tiles were made with different canes and the right one with a collage. I think is not necessary to explain which one I prefer.

El siguiente problema era cómo destacar las letras del ECC. De hecho, he usado dos técnicas distintas, acrílico y arcilla ablandada con arcilla líquida y nueva cocción, ambas van barnizadas.

Las piezas llevan trasera texturizada y una murrina con mis iniciales. 

Next problem was how to focus on the ECC letters. In fact I have used two tecnics, acrilic paint and clay softened with liquid clay aplicated on the tile and baked again, both barnish.

The back is textured and carries a cane with my initials.
